Starting a new painting is always an improvised journey creating a continuing sense of freedom and novelty.

No particular purpose or preparation, just a state-of-mind, an on-going journey, a built up from the previous work but never a repetition.

It may take a few hours or a few months, it may come from tens of revisions or changes of direction. It is born in a state-of-mind, a sense of the shape and the color which fit that day at that moment.
